Tens of thousands of children from across the globe visit DC’s museums and theaters each year, yet budget constraints often prevent local students from taking advantage of their hometown’s resources. So the DC Collaborative partners with 115 cultural institutions to help schools gain access to our vibrant arts world. Offering a wide range of programs to students, and arts and humanities education workshops to teachers, teaching artists, principals, and others, the Collaborative also makes registration, tickets, and transportation easy. More than 700,000 children have benefited from these programs since 1998; this year alone, nearly 50,000 students from 160 schools will attend cultural field trips and free in-school performances and workshops. After all, visiting the Kennedy Center or the Washington Ballet for the first time, or having a professional artist right in your classroom, can be an unforgettable experience. Let’s keep the arts and humanities alive – for every student.
Covid-19 Update:
The Collaborative has suspended all field trips, in-school workshop, residencies, and professional development events. It has launched a Distance Learning Resource Database – a comprehensive list of curricular guides, virtual field trips, and other resources to deepen students' at-home learning experiences. Educators, students, parents, and caregivers are encouraged to use and share it. The database will be updated regularly with additional downloadable/ printable resources. In addition, the Collaborative conducts daily zoom chats to ensure that relevant information is being passed along to the greater arts and humanities education community.

About the Catalogue for Philanthropy
Each year 120 expert reviewers evaluate applicants for distinction, merit, and impact. Each featured charity has been successfully site visited and its financials given the thumbs up. The Catalogue for Philanthropy charges no fees and raises funds separately to support its work. Since 2003, it has raised over $40 million for charities across the Greater Washington region.
The Catalogue for Philanthropy looks to friends like you to keep our services independent and entirely free of charge. Consider a small contribution to the Catalogue to cap off your gift and help the causes you care about get the full support they deserve!
