Jubilee JumpStart prepares young children (ages 6 weeks – 5 years) from families with low-incomes for success in school and life. Its center in Adams Morgan provides dual-language early childhood education in a nurturing, evidence-based environment. In every classroom, three trained educators focus on language development, social-emotional well-being, and kindergarten readiness, with onsite support from early intervention and mental health specialists. Recognizing that children thrive when families are supported, its whole-family approach includes a 12-week parenting program, family learning activities, and referrals to housing, legal, and community resources. Through free pop-up markets and distributions, enrolled families and neighbors access fresh groceries, diapers, and other essentials. By combining affordable early learning with family support, mental health care, and community partnerships, JumpStart breaks cycles of poverty two generations at a time.
