The Juanita C Grant Foundation (JCGF) knows that social health plays a critical role in overall well-being, especially for older adults. Now operating across Maryland, Washington, DC, and Fairfax County, Virginia — with workshop demand up 25% — JCGF addresses social isolation, financial vulnerability, and mental well-being through its Forward Together Initiative. This umbrella framework integrates its most effective programs: the Village Connector Experience, Mental Wellness Mapping Workshops, Fraud and Elder Abuse Prevention Interactive Workshops, and Co-Generation and Intergenerational Facilitator Training. Launched in 2020, the Village Connector Experience pairs volunteer Ambassadors with participants to build meaningful relationships shown to improve confidence, well-being, and quality of life. Throughout, JCGF advocates for eliminating the root causes of isolation and victimization, ensuring older adults rediscover joy and purpose while building more connected communities.
