General Information

  • Volunteer Opportunities / Responsibilities: Turning the Page runs child mentoring sessions weekday evenings at DCPS schools while parents attend Turning the Page parent workshops. Mentoring sessions generally include reading with a small group of children, engaging in fun learning activities, or working on crafts projects together. Children range in age from 3 - 12. Volunteer opportunities are also available at Turning the Page's fundraising used bookstore Carpe Librum. Volunteering at Carpe Librum is flexible and includes sorting and shelving books, and organizing the bookstore.   • Types of Volunteers Needed: individual/adult; adult groups of less than 5; adult groups of 6 or more, including corporate teams
